Mundo Azul implemented in 2002 a successful environmental education program in public schools of Pucusana with a start-up funding of the British NGO "Marine Connection".

Within three months, Mundo Azul volunteers could teach more than 600 children on topics such as whales, dolphins and marine conservation, using slide presentations as an educational tool. The results of our educational units where monitored by little exams for the children. Many of the children rewarded our volunteers by presenting them drawings they had made about the topics of the presentations.

Capacitating teachers was another element of this project. In a four day course, Mundo Azul professionals could capacitate 23 local teachers.
