Travel and time

On your first day (day of arrival we will pick you up on the airport and bring you to your hotel (international arrivals in Lima are usually late at night). On day two we will pick you up for the initial briefing and project orientation in our office in Pucusana. In the afternoon, you travel to the study site with our research team and the equipment you will need for dolphin photo-identification. During the next three weeks, you will be out patrolling the coastline of Pucusana or Paracas in search of the local populations of bottlenose dolphins for observation and data collection. Five days of the week you will be out at sea and two days are off. You will stay at a local hostal in Paracas and in the guest rooms of our local office in Pucusana, and leave early each morning in the research vessel. Each afternoon you will return to port for a meal of good local fare and a much-deserved rest. On day 28 we are going to meet in order to discuss the results of the survey and hold the final briefing. The next day you return home or may travel on.
